photo by Ann HawthorneRebecca L. Johnson is an author with a passion for science. She's written more than 75 books for kids and young adults, and a few for adults, too. Her books have received awards from Scientific American, the National Science Teachers Association, the Children's Book Council, the Society of School Librarians International, the New York Public Libary, and others.
In doing research for books, Johnson has explored amazing places alongside scientists on many continents and several oceans. She is a three-time National Science Foundation Antarctic Artists and Writers Program grant recipient and an avid scuba diver.
She lives with her husband and two Bengal cats in South Dakota.
